Job Description

Tax Preparer (Seasonal and Part Time)
  • Job Duties:
    • Data Entry into QuickBooks Online & Desktop Versions
    • Calculating & Filing Sales Taxes with State Agencies
    • Communicating with Clients to Discuss Financials, Estimated Tax Payments, Etc.
    • Processing Tax Payments via Direct Pay or QuickPay 
    • Assisting in Preparation of Individual and Business Tax Returns
    • Informing clients or employers on the tax preparation process
    • Collecting relevant financial records, including pay stubs and income statements
    • Inputting data from financial records into tax return software or databases
    • Using applicable federal, state and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return
    • Completing and filing tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state and local government entities
    • Acting as a representative for clients with applicable agencies as required
    • Building customer relationships to promote and expand the business
    • Answering phones
    • Meeting with clients

  • Requirements:
    • 3 years of tax preparation experience, personal 1040 income tax preparation and corporate and partnership returns (1120,1120S 1065)
    • QuickBooks and Excel
  • Hours:
    • Flexible
    • Part-time, Seasonal
  • Pay:
    • From $15.00 per hour
  • Experience:
    • Tax Preparation: 3 years (Required)
