Job Description

Nextaff of Beaverton is looking for a full time Human Resources at a Senior/Director level!  Are you up for the challenge of developing policies and procedures and provide guidance to the less experience? Do you present well and are you confident?  If you said yes to all the above, we want you!  This is a full time Sr./Dir. HR consultant role for a tribal organization.  Tribal experience is highly desired, but not necessary.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Compensation Phase
  • You will examine the local site's compensation philosophy
  • Ensure that minimum wage standards are compliant with Multnomoah County Standards
  • Review competitive compensation practices to ensure equitability
  • Review entities, locations, and Industries to propose equitable, competitive, and cost-effective compensation practices
  • Analyze current compensation, identify recommendations for review, and propose implementation methods to address issues/concerns
  • Identify comparable organizations and competitive labor market comparisons for position classifications and cost of implementation
  • Provide alternative methods to address internal equities, pay compression, retention, hard-to-fill positions, and market adjustments
  • Compensation plan (includes justifications for recommendations)
  • Classification Structure with assignment recommendations for all positions that commensurate the level of complexity, responsibility, knowledge, skills, and abilities and/other compensable factors
  • Implementation Plan for key stakeholders to include the fiscal impact of implementation
  • Employee Communication Plan to explain the process and implantation of recommendations 
Succession Phase
  • Identify Key Staff
  • Identify staff skills, competencies, and performance indicators for all key staff
  • A Succession Implementation Plan & Schedule
  • Organizational charts that outline training, mentoring, and/or professional development for high potential tribal employees
Professional Development Phase
  • A self-assessment from the staff members
  • Manager’s assessment of the individual’s skill level
  • Assess the department and organization’s needs
  • Explore development opportunities with the staff member
  • Record & Analyze the staff member’s progress
  • Follow up with training necessary to address organization’s mission & growth
 What You’ll Need to Have: 
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities of the Human Resources staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work and/or train on; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Preferred: BA in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field AND a minimum of eight years’ experience in Human Resources or as Manager or Director, with demonstrated experience serving in a high level managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Minimum: AA degree AND a minimum of nine years’ experience in Human Resources or as a Manager or Director with demonstrated experience serving in a high level managerial or supervisory capacity.
