We are looking for a Sandblaster who will be responsible for the setup, operation and maintenance of the sandblasting and sand recovery equipment, proper removal of contamination, and scale from or to impart specified finish to part surfaces at a scope manufacturing warehouse in Tualatin, OR. What you will receive as a Sandblaster:
  • Pay: Starting at $16.50/hr
  • SWING Shift: Monday to Thursday - 3:30pm to 2am (10hrs/4days)
  • Contract To Hire
  • Location - Tualatin Oregon

  • Paid weekly (every Friday)
What you will be doing as a Sandblaster:
  • Positions and turns parts to completely blast all surfaces
  • Safely and efficiently operate sand and recovery equipment to remove sand, scale, or other markings from parts in preparation for painting or anodizing
  • Visually inspects parts when removing parts from blast cabinet
  • Keeps up with daily schedule of parts run and manages a variable workload
  • Consistently maintains accurate counts
  • Manually loads and unloads racks and baskets in accordance with written or verbal instructions, as needed
  • Prepares certain components to aid assembly, as needed
  • Enforces safety precautions related to sandblasting, including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing and especially eyewear such as goggles when visitors or co-workers enter the workspace
  • Monitors sandblasting equipment and notifies supervisor if machine is non-functioning or requires supplies or repair
  • Reports problems with quality, processes, defects, equipment and materials
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate effective and efficient manufacturing functions; cleaning routine includes draining shakers, cleaning basins, rinsing filters, wiping down oven exteriors, sweeping of shaker and paint area, bluing area and sandblast room, and wiping down inside of paint booth
  • Follows priorities in order to meet the production schedule
  • Adheres to established company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations
  • Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines and company policies
What you need to have as a Sandblaster:
  • Entry-level (general labor, warehouse, mechanically-inclined candidates are welcome to apply)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to exercise reasonable judgment when inspecting cleaned parts
  • Possesses a working knowledge of the hazards to health encountered and the protective devices used in sandblasting
  • Ability to function effectively with repetitive and routine work
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Correctable vision and hearing
  • Ability to move through approximately 20,000 square foot building
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in fast paced environment
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously and accept job assignments from employees other than immediate supervisor
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
  • Passing a Drug test (THC included) and Background check
