LAB TECHNICIAN Location: Ocean Springs, MS Pay: $11-11.95/hour Hours: Full Time General Purpose: Nextaff has an opening for a Lab Technician in Ocean Springs, MS. The Lab Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all lab equipment is running properly and is well maintained. This is an important role in a rapidly growing company that requires an experienced individual that is familiar with eyeglass manufacturing equipment that includes, but is not limited to, digital surfacing equipment including generators, polishers, and engravers from various manufacturers as well as lens edger’s, blockers, and AR equipment. Main Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Be able to work with existing lab maintenance personnel to ensure efficient operation of all eyeglass manufacturing equipment • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly lab equipment maintenance as scheduled and in accordance with manufacturers specifications • Ensure that machines are enrolled in manufactures preventive maintenance programs and that maintenance is scheduled and delivered in a timely fashion • Communicate frequently and effectively with managers and lab technicians to identify and if necessary, repair any equipment that is impeding the efficient operation of the lab • Develop and execute standard operating procedures (SOP's) across all equipment that includes proper preventive maintenance procedures and how to address common issues • Challenge the existing maintenance practices to ensure that lab is maintaining equipment in accordance with industry standards and introduce new procedures as needed • Order replacements parts and install in a prompt manner to minimize workflow interruption • Attend manufacturer classroom-based training programs to remain knowledgeable of proper maintenance and operation of labs primary equipment • Adhere to all safety codes and maintain a clean working environment Position Requirements: • Dependable, thorough, and adaptable to an ever-changing fast paced environment • Dedicated team player that works well with others • Problem solver that can quickly address equipment issues • Veterans are encouraged to apply
