Responsibilities and Expectations:
The primary responsibility of a Product Application Specialist (PAS) will be to create sales growth by promoting and demonstrating the features, benefits, and technical details of products supplied by P&I Supply. The products will generally fit into the tools, safety supplies, and construction consumables categories.
Under the direction of the Product Application Manager, the PAS will meet with P&I customers to deliver product demonstrations, present new products, and coordinate manufacturer led product demonstrations.
A P&I Supply Product Application Specialist will be expected to be proficient in the features, benefits, and performance characteristics of products distributed by P&I Supply.
Work with vendor partners to bring product updates and demonstrations to the customer.
Beyond customer contact, the PAS can expect to bring product knowledge to other P&I Supply departments as needed.
Product expertise will complement knowledge and understanding of P&I Supply’s focused market strategy and growth initiative.
The PAS will need to be able to understand and communicate key updates from regulatory agencies as they pertain to P&I Supply’s product offerings.
This role will require documentation and communication of field activities by the PAS so that key departments can work together to execute successful product conversion and upgrade opportunities.
While this role is not a typical sales role, the PAS will be expected to function in a related sales capacity. Developing and maintaining relationships with customer contacts in various roles will be vital to success.
The PAS can expect to spend equal amounts of time in the field and in an assigned P&I Supply branch. Office time is necessary to research products, prepare for customer meetings, and collaborate with other P&I departments as needed. Overnight travel will be necessary on an occasional basis.
Qualifications:
Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Experience: 1-3 years of experience in distribution inside sales, account management, or retail sales preferred. Bilingual beneficial but not required.
An ideal candidate will have at least an intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Prior experience working with a CRM platform will be beneficial.
Must be able to communicate in a professional manner.
Willing and able to present in front of a group.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the US, hold a valid driver’s license, be able to climb ladders, lift 50 pounds, work at a computer/desk for extended periods, and function in both an office and construction site environment.
Benefits and Compensation:
This position is a salaried role, which entails a base salary paid every two weeks. Salary is commensurate with talent and experience.

Health Care: P&I Supply provides and funds the majority of the expense for employee medical, dental and vision insurance programs. The specifics of this program can be provided upon request.
Retirement Benefits: P&I Supply provides a 401(K) program. Presently, P&I matches up to 4% of the employee’s salary from P&I to your 401(K) account.
Location/Remote Work: Presently, P&I is operating a hybrid in-office/remote program, offering up to 20% work from home as workload allows.
This position will also include a company vehicle and cellular telephone.
