Precision Technician
Nextaff Gulf Coast | Ocean Springs, MS
Employment: Full-Time | Pay: $16–$20/hour, depending on experience
1st Shift: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM | 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday | 3:30 PM–11:00 PM
Position Overview
We’re hiring disciplined, detail-driven individuals ready to transition into precision manufacturing. If you’ve excelled in fast-paced environments, taken ownership during high-pressure situations, trained others, solved technical problems, or consistently outperformed expectations, your experience can translate here.
This opportunity is for individuals who take pride in mastering skills, improving systems, and being counted on when it matters. No manufacturing background is required. We provide structured, hands-on technical training. What we can’t train is work ethic, focus, accountability, and the willingness to learn.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Operating manual and CNC equipment with precision and consistency.
- Reading and executing detailed technical instructions without shortcuts.
- Inspecting, measuring, and verifying parts using precision measurement tools.
- Troubleshooting production or equipment issues and working through problems independently.
- Meeting production targets without sacrificing quality or process standards.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and process-control records.
This Role Rewards Individuals Who
- Catch mistakes before they become larger problems.
- Stay calm, focused, and dependable under pressure.
- Improve efficiency without compromising standards.
- Take ownership, accept feedback, and follow through.
Who Thrives Here
Top performers may come from backgrounds such as:
- Shift managers, team leads, and high-volume service professionals.
- IT support, technical troubleshooting, quality control, or other detail-focused roles.
- Mechanically inclined self-learners with experience in automotive work, electronics, machining, coding, building computers, 3D printing, or similar hands-on problem solving.
- Gamers, musicians, shrimpers, and others accustomed to focus, hand-eye coordination, repetition, process discipline, or technical problem solving.
- Recent graduates who want a real-world, skill-based career with room to grow.
If you’ve been the person others rely on during rushes, technical issues, or high-responsibility moments, this environment may feel familiar — but with a more stable, technical, career-focused path.
What We Expect
- Strong mechanical reasoning and problem-solving ability.
- Comfort with math, measurements, and precision work.
- High personal standards, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions consistently.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must pass a mechanical aptitude test, drug screen, and background check.
- Preferred: Associate’s degree or 2+ years of post-secondary education/training. Equivalent technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to learn complex processes will also be considered.
Training, Growth & Benefits
We invest heavily in hands-on training and skill development. Advancement is based on performance, reliability, technical growth, and skill mastery. Benefits and a skill-based career path are available.
Why High Performers Choose This Path
Many strong team members transition from service, retail leadership, technical support, or other fast-paced roles because they want:
- A skill-based career instead of constant customer-facing burnout.
- Predictable weekday hours.
- Advancement tied to performance, reliability, and skill progression.
- A technical environment where effort, precision, and accountability matter.
