Pharmacy Technician
Salary: $17.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week.
Job Description
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications to patients
- Prepare and package medications for distribution
- Maintain accurate patient records and profiles
- Answer phone calls and address customer inquiries
- Provide excellent patient service and ensure patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
- Administer medications through various routes including oral, topical, and inhalation
- Follow proper procedures for medication storage and inventory management
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines in the pharmacy field
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or certification
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues effectively
- Prior experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred but not required
