We are looking for Machinist II for our client in Newberg, OR.  This position operates multiple moderately complex machinery and CNC machining centers for production parts and moderate to complex fabrication tasks within assigned area without supervision. What You will Receive as a Machinist II:
 
  • Pay: $31/hr - $36/ hr (Depending on Experience)
  • WEEKDAY SWING Shift: Monday - Thursday (3:20 pm - 1:50 am) * plus 9% shift differential
  • WEEKEND DAY Shift:  Friday - Sunday (5:00am – 5:30 pm) * plus 11% shift differential
  • Direct Hire Position
  • Located in Newberg, Oregon
What You will Be Doing as a Machinist II:
 
  • Operates Swiss-screw machines (Citizen, Tornos, Brown & Sharpe, etc.). This is a complex environment where they work with different types of materials, including aluminum, brass, steel, and some plastic.
  • Performs routine maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning.
  • Troubleshoot moderate equipment problems and request service or repairs as needed.
  • Read and interpret work orders and adjust equipment and materials to match.
  • Inspects personal production, to achieve and maintain quality standards and may make recommendations for improvement.
  • Helps with rework and teaches others on how to reduce scrap.
  • Actively engages and participates in department continuous improvement efforts to supports and implement improvements to processes, programs, tooling, and fixturing, applying innovation and creative solutions which result in exceeding goals and targets.
  • Works collaboratively within the team to maintain a neat and organized work station.
  • Achieves and maintains productivity standards, follows all safety guidelines, and maintains acceptable dependability level.
  • Understands and completes documentation needed to comply with policies and procedures that are appropriate for the position
  • Effectively interprets production, learning to predict flow and is proactive to keep personal production line/area operating at a high level and may coach others.
  • Versatile in operating major equipment centers with key machinery supported by secondary machines and operations
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians to provide input to assist with resolving quality concerns and improve existing processes.
  • Follows safety guidelines, must not pose a risk to self or others, identifies potential safety hazards and initiates corrective action when necessary.
  • Actively participates in all department, quarterly, and company meetings
 
What You will Need to Have as a CNC Machinist II:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience and knowledge  in machine operation.
  • Must have experience in setting up and operating Swiss-screw machines (Citizen, Tornos, Brown & Sharpe, etc.). *We would consider applicants with extensive experience in operating CNC Lathes
  • Ability to interpret blueprints with a working knowledge of GD&T
  • Strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Knowledge of ISO procedures.
  • Ability to perform math calculations with an understanding of decimal/fraction equivalence, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Position requires ability to stand for long durations. 
  • Knowledge of all tooling and material types used during production, including uncommon and unconventional tools, with the ability to alter tools to achieve desired results.
  • Moderate computer skills and ability to learn and understand ERP systems
  • Must be able to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads (up to 50 lbs. frequently; over 100 lbs. occasionally) with team lift.
  • Ability to wear respiratory protection and comply with OSHA’s respirator use requirements.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test
