Job Description

Performs various electro-mechanical assembly and test functions to assemble prototype products, build special machines and assemble standard machines. Hands-on, industrial position working in a shop environment.

What You’ll Receive:

  • Location - Newberg, Oregon
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Responsible for the quality of work and utilizes familiarity with inspection and other quality assurance techniques to inspect work.
  • Assembles all of the company's products.
  • Analyzes assembly drawings, schematics, and specifications documents and builds accordingly.
  • Verifies conformance of parts to pick list and drawings.
  • Aligns parts together for bolt, press, thread, and slip assembly and understands the differences and requirements of these and other mechanical assembly techniques.
  • Understands dovetail and gib, square-way, linear ball, and other linear alignment systems and assembly.
  • Able to proficiently troubleshoot fit or function issues with precision or tight tolerance components. 
  • Performs various electromechanical assembly functions such as soldering, assembly of cables and wiring harnesses, re-work of printed circuit boards, and other electrical assembly activities.
  • Works closely with engineering to test products (by hand or mechanically), diagnose, and resolve problems that occur during assembly and repair.
  • Removes high spots and profile errors to improve feel and motion, as well as cosmetics of mechanical assemblies.
  • Understands and follows industry standard techniques when operating precision measuring tools to verify alignment and tolerances of moving parts.
  • Can manufacture or rework complex parts using a manual lathe, manual mill, and other stationary machine tools.
  • Can follow engineering machine drawings, understands print dimension and tolerancing, and GD & T
  • Assembles, sets up, and operates machine to verify function, machine capabilities, and conformance to the company's specifications.
  • Follows the production schedule and associated work orders and sales orders to determine assembly requirements.
  • Can be relied on to follow and role model of the company procedures and processes.
  • Can execute difficult lifts and rotations using overhead cranes safely.
  • Can pick and load large or heavy materials using various types of forklifts safely.
  • Understands basic Lean principles; follows lean manufacturing systems; participates in continuous improvement initiatives and recommends ways to improve assembly methods and procedures.
  • Handles stress in a professional manner, demonstrates the ability to get along with others, demonstrates successful attendance and punctuality, and works overtime / extra hours as required to meet business needs.
  • Provides senior level mentoring and direction to less experienced employees and assists when needed.
  • Role models excellence both in terms of technical expertise and behavior
  • Remains productive and diligent with little to no supervision and expects the same from peers.
  • Remains positive and focused on staying safe, producing quality product, and adhering to the production schedule (in this order).
  • May occasionally travel, primarily in the local area.
  • Other duties as required.

What You’ll Need to Have: 
  • AA degree and 7+ years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience with mechanical assembly and associated tools; must have experience with wiring, soldering, crimping, and interconnects; experience with basic shop functions including pressing, fitting, proper torque of parts.
  • Experience or training in precision measuring and inspection a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of machining processes, welding processes and control panel wiring is preferred.
