KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER, EVANSVILLE INDIANA


The Key Account Manager (KAM) represents P&I in our most important customer relationships. The KAM is the central hub connecting the different spokes of our customers’ needs . The KAM enhances customer position through exceptional support, and strong customer relationships.

 


 

  1. Daily Activity
    1. You will lead one of our customer service teams out of our Evansville Headquarters.  For your assigned accounts, your team is responsible for all quotations, bids, order entry, and customer service functions. This team approach allows us to distribute the workload in order to provide exceptional service. 
    2. You will guide the team in sourcing, product selection, and pricing activities. You will be expected to be able to personally perform all of these activities, but to also direct and manage the team’s daily execution. 
    3. This activity requires engagement and relationships with multiple stakeholders on a project including procurement, operations, and safety personnel, as well as a variety of decisionmakers and operators ranging from warehouse receiving clerks to project executives.   In your role as KAM, you will have daily contact with these positions.   
    4. As a distributor, our vendor partners also value the guidance of our  Key Account Managers  to coordinate our combined resources to the customer. You will present opportunities to our suppliers, and work with them to craft a winning strategy and solve issues.
    5. If you are new to our industry, we will provide a training program to help you develop the knowledge required. Ideally you will already possess the organizational skills and customer service experience this role requires.
  2. Position Overview
    1. Reports directly to our Executive Vice President, contributes as a member of our revenue team, and engages in strategy, product and process development, and customer-project management.
    2. Cross-functionally partners with purchasing, marketing, finance, and IT leadership to promote innovation and problem-solving on behalf of our customer and as a leader within the company.
    3. Identifies and captures new customer opportunities through data-centric decision-making, solution-oriented, consultative selling, and by leveraging key relationships and partnerships. 
    4. Manages his or her Key Accounts and their needs including customer emergencies, long-term planning, strategic visioning, project management, and service development in conjunction with the other resources within our company and as a part of our P&I team. 
    5. Enhances critical relationships to create competitive advantages and lasting partnerships  
  3. Requirements:

The ideal candidate has:

  1. 5-10 years in sales, project, or product management in fields such as operations, distribution, construction, or industrial construction related product and services. Construction supply and/or MRO distribution experience considered a plus.
  2. High proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as CRM software, and industry-related technologies such as construction-related asset management software.
  3. Ability to travel for customer, industry, or other business meetings.   Typically visit the larger construction projects on   3-4 times per year.
  4. Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation abilities.
  5. Comfort with changing priorities, variety, and solving challenging problems.
  6. Strong track record of taking initiative, leading teams, and innovating new practices and adding value to key stakeholders.

This position includes the following compensation structure:

  1. Salary

This position is a salaried role, which entails a base salary paid every two weeks. Salary is commensurate with talent and experience and will range from $65,000-$85,000 annually. 

 

  1. Paid-Time-Off (PTO): 

17 days to be used at your discretion with management approval. Can roll over up to 5 days or “cash out” up to 5 days

 

  1. Health Care: 

Provides its employees access to and funds the majority of the expense for medical, dental and vision insurance programs. The specifics of this program can be provided upon request. 

 

  1. Retirement Benefits: 

P&I provides a 401(K) program. Presently, P&I matches up to 4% of the employee’s salary from P&I to your 401(K) account.
