Floor Care Specialist (PASC)

Job Description

The Floor Care Specialist is responsible for performing comprehensive floor maintenance throughout the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and infection control standards, and the ability to operate a variety of floor care equipment efficiently and safely.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform all types of floor care and maintenance, including cleaning, stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet care across all facility areas.
  • Follow all organizational safety, risk management, and infection prevention standards while promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Clean, inspect, and perform routine maintenance on all floor care equipment; request assistance from Plant Operations or Maintenance when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date floor care logs, checklists, and maintenance records.
  • Operate all equipment safely and in accordance with facility and manufacturer procedures.
  • Properly collect, segregate, and transport waste to designated disposal areas, ensuring compliance with waste stream regulations (e.g., regulated medical, recycling, solid, and hazardous waste).
  • Adhere to all infection prevention practices, including proper cleaning procedures, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience using power equipment such as high-speed and conventional floor machines, carpet extractors, wet/dry vacuums, and sweepers.
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills for documentation and communication.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage openly and effectively with team members.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate and maintain necessary cleaning and floor care equipment.
  • Must successfully pass a federal fingerprint background check.
  • Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug screening.
