General Work Days/Hours: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $25.00 Hourly
DOT Position: No
Union Shop: No
Welder and Fabricator
 
JOB SUMMARY
Successful applicant will conduct metal (primarily steel) fabrication and welding daily. Will be responsible for various types of structural welding, including preparation, welding, and finishing operations. Applicant must be able to read, interpret, and understand detail design prints. Successful applicant must be in good physical condition and able to work in a steel fabrication shop environment on a daily basis.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities: 
  • Works directly with shop supervisor, customer, drafter, and peers to produce finished products
  • Must be able to interpret drawings and fit materials to print
  • Proficient in modern welding techniques and equipment
  • Good working knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel fabrication.
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, welding practices, mathematics and building materials
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Must have working knowledge of welding shop operations
  • Position requires self-motivated individual who can work independently but also performs well within teams or work groups
  • Successful applicant will be safety conscious and have good housekeeping practices
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced

Job Qualifications
  • 18+ years of age
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States 
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Forklift experience required
  • Assembly and welding experience a plus
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and future random drug testing
  • Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines

Physical Requirements:
  • Physically able to safely and consistently lift and pull material up to 50 lbs
  • This position requires sitting, standing, twisting, squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling on a daily basis
  • Must wear applicable PPE to perform job tasks
