Job Description

Finance/Payroll Clerk – Biloxi, MS
Seeking a skilled accounting/bookkeeping clerk in an administrative office setting. We’ll rely on our finance/payroll clerk to review timesheets, respond to payroll inquiries, process payroll, and various other tasks that are listed under the core competencies section.  
Core Competencies
  • Reviews and validates timesheets for compliance with policy and communicates with employees or supervisors regarding missing punches
  • Responds to payroll inquiries
  • Processes payroll biweekly, including tasks such as verification of hours and reimbursements for expenses
  • Reconciles timesheet total amount to ACH for review by CFO
  • Prepares biweekly employer and employee retirement payments 
  • Submits biweekly Health Savings Account deductions for deposit to employee accounts
  • Maintains payroll direct deposit records
  • Coordinates with Human Resources to set up of all new hires, including timesheet settings and leave, with follow up on benefit enrollment 
  • Coordinates with Human Resources on FMLA and terminations to ensure collection of benefit deductions or recapture of any reimburse expenses is communicated
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly productivity bonus calculations for review by the Chief Financial Officer
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts for deductions to on a quarterly basis, including but not limited to, Garnishments, Taxes, Retirement, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life insurance 
  • Performs other duties as requested/required 
Qualifications/Education Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited high school, or receipt of a GED certificate
  • Undergraduate education in the area of business or accounting or documented combination of training and experience to demonstrate ability to perform job responsibilities
  • Microsoft Office experience; excelling in Excel
  • Valid drivers license 
  • All candidates will have to pass a drug test and background check
