RN - Registered Nurse Job Description

Nextaff is currently looking to fill multiple hospital positions in a per diem capacity.

Full and part time staff are eligible for Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits. Employees also have protection such as workers comp, W2 employment, and weekly pay. Per diem, part time, overtime full time and 13+ week contracts available.

L&D Registered Nurse (RN) Position Summary:

Labor and Delivery Nurses typically work for hospitals of various sizes. Some work in birthing centers under the supervision of a Midwife. While general Registered Nurses often work with a variety of patients with different medical conditions, Labor and Delivery Nurses only work with patients who are delivering their babies. They monitor and support patients in the labor and delivery department, helping with every stage from the time expectant mothers are admitted until they’re discharged. They also help new parents learn how to care for their babies and support their emotional needs in addition to their physical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Taking vitals for the mom and baby
• Administering medication
• Monitoring contractions
• Identifying complications during labor and delivery
• Communicating the mom’s condition and needs to the Physician
• Coaching the mom during labor and delivery
• Caring for the mom after she gives birth
• Providing emotional support

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in L&D is required.
