What You will Receive as a CNC Machinist I:

  • Pay:  $27.35 + (Depending on Experience)
  • Shift: Weekend, Fri-Sun, 5 am – 5:30 pm, + 11% shift differential
  • Direct Hire
  • Located in Newberg, Oregon
What You will Be Doing as a CNC Machinist I:

  • Operates various secondary, manual machinery, CNC Machinery and performs activities within assigned area with moderate supervision (CNC Lathes, Vertical CNC Mills, CNC Brakes)
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot various manual and CNC machines, secondary machinery, and polishing equipment.
  • Performs routine maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning.
  • Safely and efficiently routes parts using material handling equipment.
  • Inspects personal production, to achieve and maintain quality standards and may make recommendations for improvement.
  • Actively engages and participates in department continuous improvement efforts. Implements improvements to processes, programs, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Works collaboratively within the team to maintain a neat and organized work station.
  • Achieves and maintains productivity standards, follows all safety guidelines, and maintains acceptable dependability level.
  • Understands and completes documentation needed to comply with policies and procedures that are appropriate for the position
  • Follows safety guidelines, must not pose a risk to self or others, identifies potential safety hazards and initiates corrective action when necessary.
  • Actively participates in all department, quarterly, and company meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned (refer to the job family and skills matrix).

What You will Need to Have as a CNC Machinist: I

  • Must have at least 1-3 years of experience in machine operation 
  • Must have experience in setting up and operating CNC Lathes and Mills (Fadal’s, Mori Seiki DV5100, and DMG Mori NLX)
  • Previous experience in operating press brake is a plus
  • Must have experience working with Stainless Steel materials
  • Ability to interpret blueprints with a working knowledge of GD&T
  • Strong attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity
  • Knowledge of ISO procedures.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to perform math calculations with an understanding of decimal/fraction equivalence, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
  • Knowledge of all tooling and material types used during production, including uncommon and unconventional tools, with the ability to alter tools to achieve desired results.
  • Moderate computer skills and ability to learn and understand ERP systems
  • Demonstrates behaviors and attitudes that emphasize and focus on permanent resolutions to problems and collaboratively work with other employees within work group to achieve goals
  • Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration, and/or dust, requiring the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.
  • Ability to wear respiratory protection and comply with OSHA’s respirator use requirements.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test
