Survey Party Chief – Direct Hire!!

Survey Party Chief Job Description:
Responsibilities:
  • Operate survey instruments as directed by the Field Survey Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements and procedures, including traffic control for various surveying and construction operations.
  • Maintain, clean, and operate surveying tools and equipment.
  • Conduct operation, checking, and basic field adjustments on surveying instruments.
  • Apply mathematical concepts such as trigonometry, geometry, and algebra for surveying computations.
  • Utilize hand-held calculators for computations and demonstrate proficiency in lot, area, and intersection computations.
  • Reduce and check field notes to determine positions and elevations.
  • Execute various surveying techniques including leveling, traversing, triangulation, and trilateration.
  • Facilitate field work for standard survey types under the direction of the Field Survey Manager.
  • Identify sources of measurement errors and apply principles of staking and marking.
  • Maintain organized field notes for various surveying operations.
  • Enter field data and produce positional information using calculators or micro-computer software.
  • Interpret control point records, locate points in the field, and read/prepare plan documents.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of surveying ethics and technical standards.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
  • Provide accurate time tracking and descriptions for project hours.
  • Plan daily activities to meet productivity goals set by Project Managers.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inventory, loading, and maintenance.
  • Communicate project updates and progress to office staff.
  • Work independently and make technical and supervisory decisions within specified limits.
  • Perform Data Collector downloading and prepare daily documentation.
  • Assist in project evaluation and participate in departmental training.
  • Identify and implement productivity and efficiency measures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $30 per hour to $55 per hour*
*Salary Range is based on level of education, years of experience, proficiency, and depth of knowledge in the industry.
